"Abide in Me, you shall remain"

In this, my greatest hour of need,
I come to Thee with humble plead
to further water--nourish the seed
so planted by Thy potent hand.
Though stumbling as I try to stand,
my effort shall not be disband
until my feet find perfect land
where which I'll find the path Thou lead.

Enlivened, heighten is my sense
for all the graces Thou dispense.
Like oceans vast and ever dense,
I seek--I long to see Thy face;
To have Thy merciful touch erase
my past transgressions. To alter pace
to be consumed by endless grace.
Thy Love, I cannot recompense.

Come, take my soul and mind and heart
that I may never be apart
from Thee, my Love, who ever art
In glory, honor and power reign.
With Thee, I fearth not the pain
of finite triumph and glory vain.
Let all my pride be rendered drain
so humbled, hearts will find restart.

My Lord, My God; I cry to Thee.
You hear my want: That I may see.
Was saved by grace but called to be
disciples for this foreign plain.
"Abide in Me, you shall remain",
The voice that soothes my every pain.
Eternal life is what we gain
When I'm in You and You're in me.

A Heart Expounded

Lead me. Far have
I strayed but lead.
Guided in trenches
of fallen promises.

Surefire were my eyes
but hollow my fruit.
Rest so desired
but whisked was I
from my yoke.

A twinge. A speck
reflectant of hope.
The trickling water;
pilgrim to an end.

So I followed. Led.
Upon our shoulders,

we bore.

Offering

To know Your will is my desire, Lord;
To give myself entirely unto You.
To have my heart be pierced by the sword
of Your eternal love and light so true.
Please take from me all which has kept me blind
to wholeness set before my broken eyes
and grant me greater peace of soul and mind,
that Satan's snare be not my grand demise.
I thirst for you, O Lord: my heart's desire,
for in You I have found the hope in being.
Where wisest fools are taunted by the lyre,
Your joyful trumpet blares are ever-freeing.

My entire self, without reserve I give
to seize this opportunity to live.

Wet Soles of My Shoes

Drenched with the ever
soaking snow that found
its way onto my feet.
Though a shiver travels
slowly up my spine,
gratitude arrives in knowing
all will not be lost.
The numbness will fade to warmth.
The pain will turn to feeling.

And the boots, to whom
I owe my livelihood, damaged
for my sake; I thank you--
Giving a chance to stand again.

Turned

Use my hands
and use my heart
This world, though good,
is miles apart from you.
I see that Love
has set me free.

With certainty,
I thought I knew
that passions sown
and wealth accrued
I'd find true peace
Instead, my innocence
Had ceased.

Like raindrops scattered
Upon the ground,
Your grace shone through
your victory found
In joy and light
You cured my dark
Obstructed sight.

Grant to me
all that I'll need
And take it all
And plant in me
a seed of hope.
Through pain, I'll
Thrive, not merely cope

In you, who fashioned
All I am.
I place my trust,
Within your hand
Of life and death
My soul is cleansed
Upon your breath.

Take from me
This broken crown
Of errors, follies
And failures all
around. I feel as if
My knees have cause
To kneel.

Desolation

You led my heart
and I did not;
You moved my limbs
and I did not;
You gave me love
and I did not;
You heard my plea
and I did not.

You were aware
and I was not;
You were the start
and I was not;
You were the sign
and I was not;
You were the goal
and I was not.

You know the cause
and I do not;
You foster hope
and I do not;
You fill the sea
and I do not;
You stock the stars
and I do not.

You are true peace
and I am not;
You are the cup
and I am not;
You are our rest
and I am not;
You are divine
and I am not.

You'll save the world
and I will not;
You'll sow deep faith
and I will not;
You'll bring forth change
and I will not;
You'll see its fullness
and I will not.

You took my hand
and I will be--
You trusted me
and I will be--
You carried me
and I will be--
You cleared my path
and I will be

Yours and yours alone.

Carpe Noctem

The right to want: a thirst to quench--
the waters of abundance drench.
You, my child, shall know thy goal;
to love thy God and sate thy soul.
Upon the path, your feet will tread
and desires turn to thoughts unsaid
but guard your heart and do not stray.
Just focus forward and find your way.
Fears, terrors and things to fret:
to traverse onward, your mind you'll set
but hide not self from self-restraint
for causes void is purpose draint.
Steer steady--slowly back on course.
Put best feet first, trust greater force.
Sure! You'll fail and fall off path
and suffer pains and subject wrath,
but see the light that cleanses all--
that brings the dawn of night's withdrawal.

Seek, and you shall find.
Endure, and you shall flourish.
Trust, and you shall live
to see another day.
